Michael Sells
Michael Sells, Ph.D. is the John Henry Barrows Professor of Islamic History and Literature in the Divinity School at the University of Chicago. He teaches courses on the Qur’an, Islamic love poetry, comparative mystical literature, Arabic Sufi poetry, Arabic religious texts, and Ibn al-‘Arabi.
He is the author of eight books and more than sixty articles, most recently Sells coedited and contributed to the forthcoming book “The New Crusades: Constructing the Muslim Enemy”.
