Letters
to America
a chance for us to listen
Edited by Erica Chawn Geller
Photographs by Mark Brecke
How do people around the world view the United
States?
And what do they want to say to us?
This remarkable collection of letters written
by women and men from 46 countries around the world express
an eloquent range of impressions.
Now, more than ever, the role of the United
States in international affairs is under question at home
and abroad, and Letters to America is a chance for us to listen
to the world.
This thought-provoking collection also features black and white photographs of international correspondents, maps, and details about each country.
About the Editor
Erica Geller was born in New York and has lived in the San Francisco area since 1996. It is her love of creative expression and a desire to help promote peaceful coexistence that inspires her work with Letters to America.
Erica's presentations are inspired by her experiences creating Letters. Students explore the importance of intercultural dialogue and are moved to become active participants in a "one world" way of living.
