Music from the Internment
Camps of Sumatra

(Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Paradise Road/Song of Survival is a new recording of music originally performed in a Japanese internment camp on the island of Sumatra. This hauntingly beautiful music has been beautifully recreated by the Women's Choir of Haarlem, Holland. The CD contains selections from the original camp concerts, including Chopin's "Funeral March," Tchaikovsky's "Andante Cantabile, String Quartet," Dvorak's "Largo" from the New World Symphony, Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," and the "Captives' Hymn," which was composed by Margaret Dryburgh, the internment camp's choir director.
