Thursday, January 20th, 2011 at 7 p.m.

Bloomsbury Books, 290 E. Main, Ashland

Eric Alan is author/photographer of the books Grace and Tranquility and Wild Grace: Nature as a Spiritual Path (White Cloud Press), and the initial lyricist for the Gypsy Soul CD Grace and Tranquility, a musical companion to Alan’s books. He teaches workshops on the reintegration of nature into daily life, based on those books. Formerly music director of Jefferson Public Radio, Alan now broadcasts part-time for KLCC in Eugene.

At Bloomsbury, Alan will read from Grace and Tranquility and beyond, integrating photographs from the book and two recorded songs from his collaboration with Gypsy Soul.

“With uplifting prose and dozens of eye-catching color photographs, Alan ponders and communicates moments of profound grace and tranquility… To spend time in his world is to join a writer-artist who addresses themes both topical and timeless.” –Publishers Weekly

“Eric Alan—with lyrical prose and vivid photography—reminds me that I do not have to be in wilderness to find serenity. His words and photographs make me stop, listen, be quiet, and know that peace and tranquility can be found in ourselves.” Bill Meadows, President, the Wilderness Society
