Lois Shenker

Lois Shenker is a frequent lecturer and teacher on Judaism and Jewish parenting.

From 1993 to 2001, as both facilitator and administrator for the Oregon Board of Rabbis' Introduction to Judaism course, she worked with more than 800 adult students studying Judaism.

Her advice column, "Letters To Lois", ran for almost 3 years in the Jewish press.

Currently, she works as a certified Life Coach focusing on the joys and challenges of contemporary Jewish life. The former Program Director and Director of the Early Childhood Learning Center at the Mittleman Jewish Community Center in her home town of Portland, Oregon.

She has traveled extensively in Israel, where she has led family and inter-faith missions with her husband of 46 years. Ms. Shenker is the mother of three children, grandmother to ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom have non-Jewish grandparents as well.
