Grace and Tranquility at the Britt Festivals
JACKSONVILLE, ORE. June 14, 2010 — Author Eric Alan introduced the band Gypsy Soul for the premier of their collaboration, Grace and Tranquility. Blessed with a perfect summer’s evening for the opening of the 48th season of the Britt Festivals in Jacksonville, Oregon, the elegant music and voice of Gypsy Soul merged with the poetic lyrics of author/photographer Alan.
As always, Roman Morykit’s sublte virtuosity supported vocalist Cilette Swann, who was fully in her power on the stage. From sultry to rockin’, Swann gave the enthusiastic audience a rich taste of Gypsy Soul’s range of styles and moods.
Highlights for the evening included world premier performances of songs from their new release, Grace and Tranquility, with lyrics inspired by Alan’s books, Grace and Tranquility and Wild Grace: Nature as a Spiritual Path (White Cloud Press).
Gypsy Soul opened the for a season that includes appearances by Steve Martin, Pink Martini, Garrison Keillor, Jackson Browne, and many other top-shelf performers. Britt is the preiminent outdoor music festival for the Pacific Northwest.
