About me
Jennifer Ferraro, MFA, is author/co-translator of Quarreling with God: Mystic Rebel Poems of the Dervishes of Turkey (White Cloud Press, 2007) and a book of illustrated poems, Divine Nostalgia. A poet, artist and performer, she teaches writing and speaks about poetry, creativity and soul. As an artist, Jennifer’s old-world pyrographic portraits (woodburnings) are in many private collections. She has degrees in writing and literature from the New School for Social Research in New York City and the University of New Mexico. For five years she toured internationally with Latif Bolat’s Turkish Sufi music ensemble, performing percussion and poetry with devotional dance. Her poems have been choreographed and set to music, and she has presented poetry with music and dance in innovative ways. She is a student of Sufism in the lineage of Hazrat Inayat Khan and lives in the high desert city of Santa Fe New Mexico. She is currently at work writing a new book.
